
Dr. Robert Maywood is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery. He is a Qualified Medical Examiner and devotes a significant amount of his practice to athletic and work related injuries.
Dr. Maywood completed his undergraduate career at the University of Southern California, graduated magna cum laude, and earned his medical degree at the University of California at San Francisco. He preformed his internship, residency, and Chief Residency at the University of Miami, and his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts.
His expertise is in the diagnosis and treatment of extremity injuries, including complex knee and shoulder injuries, elbow problems and carpal tunnel syndrome. He has worked providing medical care for the New England Patriots Football Team, Boston Bruins Hockey Club and Harvard University Intercollegiate Athletic Teams. He also has served as team physician for San Diego State University Rugby team and the Women’s Professional Football League’s So. Cal. Scorpions.
